JULIUS STREICHER, HIGH PRIEST OF GERMAN ANTI-SEMITISM, PERFORMED THE CEREMONY OF RE-NAMING THE HALLERO BRUECKE INTO THE BRIDGE OF WILHELM GUSTLOFF IN HONOR OF THE SWISS NAZI LEADER SLAIN BY A JEWISH MEDICAL STUDENT. A LARGE OBELISK WAS ERECTED AT ONE OF THE PILLARS OF THE BRIDGE SURMOUNTED BY A BUST OF GUSTLOFF AND BEARING THE INSCRIPTION, “WILHELM GUSTLOFF, JAN. 30, 1895-FEB. 4, 1936; KILLED BY A JEW.”
