THE AMERICAN LEGION’S NINETEENTH ANNUAL CONVENTION VOTED TODAY TO ASK CONGRESS TO INVESTIGATE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES “MILITANTLY SERVING GERMANY, ITALY, RUSSIA, SPAIN OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY.”

THE 1,341 DELEGATES WITHOUT DEBATE OR DISSENT, APPROVED THE REPORT OF THE AMERICANISM COMMITTEE CALLING FOR THE INVESTIGATION AND ALSO FOR LEGISLATION TO DEPORT ALIENS AND PUNISH AMERICANS WHO ADVOCATE OVERTHROW BY FORCE OF CONSTITUTIONAL AMERICAN GOVERNMENT.

THE RESOLUTION CONDEMNED “COMMUNISM, FASCISM, NAZISM AND ALL OTHER FORCES SEEKING TO DESTROY THE AMERICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT.”
