THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF PARAGUAY APPEALED TODAY FOR INTERVENTION OF AMERICAN JEWS AS THE GOVERNMENT EXPELLED FROM THE COUNTRY SEVERAL PROMINENT MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY AND ARRESTED MANY OTHERS.

REPORTS RECEIVED HERE SAID THE JEWISH LEADERS, SOME OF THEM RESIDENTS OF THIRTY YEARS IN PARAGUAY, HAD BEEN EXPELLED ON THE GROUND OF COMMUNISM, AND THAT THE EXPULSION OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF 200 FAMILIES WAS FEARED.

NAZI PROVOCATION WAS BLAMED IN JEWISH QUARTERS FOR THE EXPULSIONS AND ARRESTS.
