PERSONS LIVING IN GERMANY WHO REFUSE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS CONCERNING THEIR RACIAL ORIGIN IN FILLING OUT BLANKS FOR THE CENSUS TO BE HELD NEXT YEAR MAY BE IMPRISONED FOR A MAXIMUM OF ONE YEAR, IT WAS REVEALED TODAY WITH PUBLICATION OF A LAW COVERING THE CENSUS, THE HAVAS NEWS AGENCY REPORTED.

THE BLANKS WILL CALL FOR INFORMATION AS TO RELIGION, NATIONALITY, “ETHNICAL CONNECTIONS” (VOLKSZUGEHOERICKEIT), “DESCENT FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF BLOOD,” MATERNAL LANGUAGE, AND PROFESSION.
