JEWS RETURNING TO GERMANY AFTER VISITING LUXEMBURG ARE BEING DETAINED AT THE EGEL STATION ON THE FRONTIER, IT WAS REVEALED TODAY, AND INFORMED THAT JEWS LEAVING THE REICH ARE NOT PERMITTED TO RETURN.

SEVEN JEWS SO DETAINED WERE TOLD THAT THE ORDER PROHIBITING THEIR RETURN HAD BEEN ISSUED BY THE NAZI DISTRICT LEADER FOR TRIER ON PENALTY OF CONFINEMENT IN A CONCENTRATION CAMP. THEY APPLIED TO THE GERMAN LEGATION HERE, HOWEVER, AND RECEIVED PERMISSION TO RETURN TO THE REICH.

ACCORDING TO REPORTS RECEIVED HERE, JEWS LEAVING GERMANY FOR LUXEMBURG AND FRANCE ARE BEING WARNED NOT TO PROCEED SINCE THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RETURN. IF THEY INSIST ON CONTINUING, THEY ARE DEPRIVED OF THEIR PASSPORTS, THE REPORTS SAID.
