COUNT CUDENHOVE-KALERGI, HEAD OF THE PAN-EUROPE MOVEMENT, PROPOSED TODAY THAT A CENTER OF JEWISH IMMIGRATION BE ORGANIZED IN AFRICA AS A COMMON BRITISH-JEWISH DOMINION.

IN AN ARTICLE IN THE PUBLICATION, PAN-EUROPE, HE SUGGESTS SOME TERRITORY SUCH AS UGANDA OR RHODESIA BE SET ASIDE FOR JEWISH IMMIGRATION AND ORGANIZED ON THE LINES OF BRITISH-EGYPTIAN SUDAN.

THE SUGGESTION IS OFFERED AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO GREAT BRITAIN’S PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH A JEWISH STATE THROUGH THE TRIPARTITION OF PALESTINE, AND IS COUPLED WITH A WARNING THAT ARAB OPPOSITION WOULD MENACE A PALESTINIAN STATE.

“THERE IS DANGER IN PALESTINE THAT ARAB FORCES WILL BE STRONGER THAT ALL CALCULATIONS OF THE WEST,” COUNT CUDENHOVE-KALERGI WRITES. “THE PAN-ARAB IDEA IS GROWING IN STRENGTH, AND THERE IS DANGER OF A SERIOUS CLASH BETWEEN PAN-ARAB AND ZIONIST IDEALS.

“NINE MILLION ARABS SURROUND PALESTINE, AND A MAJORITY OF THE PALESTINE POPULATION IS ARAB. IN ADDITION, THE COUNTRY IS INDEFENSIBLE AGAINST LAND ATTACKS.”
