BOWING TO NAZI GOVERNMENT PRESSURE, DENMARK TODAY FORBADE ISSUANCE OF MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES TO PERSONS WHOSE MARRIAGES ARE PROHIBITED IN THEIR NATIVE COUNTRIES. THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE, IT WAS DISCLOSED, HAS CIRCULATED INSTRUCTIONS TO THAT EFFECT TO REGISTRARS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

DANISH NEWSPAPERS REPORT THE ORDER UNDER THE HEADLINE, “GERMAN ARYANS AND GERMAN JEWS MAY NOT MARRY IN DENMARK.” REPRESENTATIONS BY THE BERLIN AUTHORITIES ARE UNDERSTOOD TO HAVE LED TO ISSUANCE OF THE ORDER.
