I AM SO OVERCOME AT THIS SAD NEWS THAT I CANNOT AT THE MOMENT ADEQUATELY ESTIMATE HIS NUMEROUS AND GREAT PUBLIC LABORS. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES TO HIS FAMILY, AND THEY KNOW THAT I SHARE THEIR GRIEF.
