TWO JEWISH GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WERE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED BY ARAB TERRORISTS TODAY AS SPORADIC DISORDERS, AIMED AGAINST THE BRITISH PROPOSAL TO PARTITION PALESTINE AND RIGOROUS REPRESSIVE MEASURES AGAINST ARAB AGITATORS, ENTERED THEIR SECOND WEEK.

AVINOAM YELLIN, A GOVERNMENT EDUCATION INSPECTOR, WAS SHOT THIS MORNING AS HE WAS ENTERING HIS OFFICES AT MT. ZION. HE IS THE SON OF DAVID YELLIN, PROFESSOR OF HEBREW POETRY AT THE HEBREW UNIVERSITY HERE.

DETECTIVE SHITREET WAS SHOT IN THE BEDROOM OF HIS HOME AT HAIFA.

AN ARMED ARAB BAND ATTACKED A POLICE STATION AT ABUGOSH, NEAR JERUSALEM. ANOTHER BAND BARRICADED THE JERUSALEM-TEL AVIV ROAD AT BAB-EL-WAD AND FOUGHT AN ENGAGEMENT WITH POLICE. NO CASUALTIES WERE REPORTED.

THE TOWN OF GAZA WAS NOTIFIED BY THE DISTRICT OFFICER THAT A PUNITIVE POLICE POST OF 25 WILL BE ESTABLISHED THERE AT ITS EXPENSE IN CONNECTION WITH THE MINING OF RAILWAYS. THE OFFICER WARNED THAT REPETITION OF SABOTAGE WOULD RESULT IN DYNAMITING OF THE HOMES OF ARAB NOTABLES.
