MARTIAL LAW IN PALESTINE IS NOT NECESSARY UNLESS VIOLENCE BECOMES WIDESPREAD, THE TIMES DECLARED TODAY IN AN EDITORIAL.

ARAB MODERATES CANNOT BE EXPECTED TO GIVE PUBLIC EXPRESSION TO THEIR VIEWS UNLESS THEY ARE ASSURED THE ADMINISTRATION WILL MAKE NO FURTHER ATTEMPT TO CONCILIATE THE EXTREMISTS, THE TIMES DECLARED.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE PROSPECTS FOR AN EARLY RESTORATION OF ORDER, THE INTELLIGENCE SERVICE OF THE PALESTINE GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN SHAKEN BY LAST YEAR’S DISORDERS, THE EDITORIAL SAID. THE SUBSEQUENT ASSASSINATION OF OFFICIALS OF THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT DRIED UP SOURCES OF INFORMATION ON WHICH THE ADMINISTRATION WAS DEPENDENT.
