THE ADMIRALTY DENIED TODAY THAT A BRITISH WARSHIP HAD LANDED TROOPS AT AKABA, DECLARING THERE WAS NO BRITISH WAR VESSEL WITHIN A HUNDRED MILES OF THAT RED SEA PORT. JERUSALEM REPORTS SAID THE TROOPS HAD BEEN DISPATCHED TO AUJA EL HAFIR, IMPORTANT STRATEGIC CENTER IN TRANSJORDAN, TO COPE WITH CONTINUED UNREST IN THE BRITISH-MANDATED TERRITORY.
