THIRTY-SIX JEWISH YOUTHS AND GIRLS WERE UNDER ARREST TODAY FOLLOWING RAIDS BY POLICE TUESDAY NIGHT ON FOUR CENTERS WHERE YOUNG JEWS ARE TRAINED FOR EMIGRATION TO PALESTINE AFTER THEY HAD BEEN DENOUNCED AS ALLEGEDLY CARRYING ON BOLSHEVISTIC AND ATHEISTIC ACTIVITIES.

ALL THOSE ARRESTED ARE EXPECTED TO BE RELEASED AFTER FINAL EXAMINATION BY THE POLICE, BUT IT IS BELIEVED CHARGES WILL BE PREFERRED AGAINST THEM. ACCORDING TO ANTI-SEMITIC NEWSPAPERS, QUANTITIES OF SEDITIOUS LITERATURE WERE FOUND IN THE RAIDS. IN A STATEMENT TO THE J.T.A., THE EXECUTIVE OF THE HUNGARIAN ZIONIST FEDERATION INDIGNANTLY DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS THAT THE STUDENTS WERE COMMUNISTS, THAT THEY RECEIVED MONEY FROM MOSCOW OR THAT THEY WERE GUILTY OF IMMORAL PRACTICES.
