FORMER AGRICULTURE MINISTER SOBRI ROPRAK EXPLAINED TODAY THAT THE FAILURE OF FOREIGN JEWS TO ASSIMILATE WAS THE REASON FOR HIS INTRODUCING A RESOLUTION IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WHICH WOULD FORBID JEWISH IMMIGRATION.

THE MOTION, POINTING TO GROWING ANTI-SEMITISM THE WORLD OVER, DECLARES THAT TURKISH JEWS ARE FREE FROM MOLESTATION. JEWS, IT SAYS, DO NOT WANT TO ASSIMILATE THEMSELVES, AND SPEAK THEIR OWN LANGUAGE.

” MANY JEWS ARRIVING FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES DEMAND ADMISSION AND TURKISH CITIZENSHIP, BUT INSTEAD OF BECOMING TURKS, THEY TRY TO JUDAIZE OTHERS,” THE RESOLUTION ASSERTS.
