THE GERMAN-AMERICAN BUND CANCELLED TODAY A MIDWESTERN REGIONAL CONVENTION SCHEDULED TO BE HELD HERE FOR WANT OF A PLACE TO MEET. OAKVILLE FARMERS HALL, WHOSE MEMBERSHIP IS MOSTLY OF GERMAN EXTRACTION, REFUSED TO PERMIT ITS HALL TO BE USED BY THE PRO-NAZIS. SIMILAR REFUSAL WAS MET PREVIOUSLY WHEN THE BUND APPROACHED GERMAN HOUSE AND THE LIEDERKRANZ CLUB. THE BUND ATTRIBUTED THE CANCELLATION OF THE CONVENTION TO A “CAMPAIGN OF HATRED” AGAINST IT. FRITZ KUHN, NATIONAL “FUEHRER” OF THE BUND, HAD BEEN SCHEDULED TO ADDRESS THE CONVENTION.
