AS HAS BECOME AN ANNUAL CUSTOM, APPROACH OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON THIS YEAR IS BEING MARKED BY INTENSIFICATION OF THE ANTI-JEWISH BOYCOTT.

PICKETING ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN INCREASED IN MANY SECTIONS OF THE COUNTRY. THE POLISH TRADESMEN’S UNION OF WILNO PROCLAIMED NEXT WEEK AS A “WEEK FOR CHRISTIAN TRADESMEN.” PICKET LINES WERE THROWN AROUND A NUMBER OF JEWISH SHOPS IN THE CITY.

A COURT TODAY SENTENCED 16 NATIONALISTS TO JAIL TERMS RANGING FROM THREE TO TEN MONTHS AND ACQUITTED 15 OTHERS ON CHARGES OF PARTICIPATING IN ANTI-JEWISH EXCESSES IN BIELSKO LAST OCTOBER.

THE INDICTMENT CHARGED THAT A TOTAL OF 1,540 WINDOWS HAD BEEN SMASHED IN THE COURSE OF THE DISTURBANCES, 25 OF THEM IN NON-JEWISH HOMES. DESECRATION OF A SYNAGOGUE, ROBBERY, AND RESISTANCE OF POLICE OFFICERS WERE ALSO CHARGED.

A GERMAN WHO UNTIL TWO YEARS AGO WAS POLAND’S PUBLIC HANGMAN AND PERFORMED ALL HER EXECUTIONS WAS TODAY REVEALED AS ONE OF A GROUP OF GERMANS WHICH HAS APPLIED FOR LEGALIZATION OF A NEW GERMAN ORGANIZATION WITH NAZI AIMS.

REPORTING ON THE APPLICATION, THE PADEREWSKI, PARTY’S ORGAN, NOWA PRAWDA, ADVISED THE EX-HANGMAN, ALFRED KALF, TO RETURN TO GERMANY WHERE HE MIGHT HAVE “MORE SCOPE FOR HIS TALENTS.” KALF WORKED UNDER THE POLISH NAME OF MACIEUEWSKI.
