SEVERAL JEWS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BY THE JAPANESE AUTHORITIES IN HARBIN ON SUSPICION OF SOVIET SYMPATHIES, ACCORDING TO REPORTS REACHING HERE TODAY. A NUMBER OF JEWS ARRIVED HERE FROM TIENTSIN, REPORTING THEY HAD FLED AFTER THE JAPANESE AUTHORITIES HAD DEMANDED THEY SIGN INDIVIDUAL ANTI-SOVIET OATHS WHICH WOULD HAVE JEOPARDIZED RELATIVES RESIDING IN RUSSIA.
