Finance Minister Fabinyi referred in a public speech to the necessity of giving the Christians in Hungary their proper share in the trade of the country. “Today,” he said, “we are going through a period of renaissance of the Christian Hungarian population which desires to conquer the positions which it voluntarily refused to occupy for many years. This cannot be prevented. I wish, however, to declare openly that we do not desire to take away anyone’s living. We merely want to bring about an expansion of the national economic life and thus make it possible for more people to earn a decent living. It is in this spirit that I invite every citizen, whatever his religion, to cooperate with us.”
