Uruguay to Admit Refugees; President-elect Hits Anti-semitism

Uruguay will admit refugees and persecuted Jews from Europe, it was announced today by President-elect General Alfredo Baldomir in connection with the United States Government’s international refugee aid proposal.

In an interview with the Sun, local English-language newspaper, Gen. Baldomir said he was opposed to anti-Semitic demonstrations or any other which stirred up racial hatred.
