Serious anti-Jewish excesses broke out today in the township of Dombrowa, Bialystok province, when agitators seized the opportunity to raise the “ritual murder” charge over disappearance of a Polish peasant boy.
Eyewitnesses had testified before an excited mob that they saw Jews kidnap the lad. The lost boy was later found in a police station, where he was being held for stealing from a tobacco shop.
Police from Bialystok and Grodno were rushed to the scene and restored order with difficulty.
