Partition Commission Arrives in Palestine

The Palestine Partition Commission headed by Sir John Woodhead arrived here today to begin its League-approved task of framing a concrete proposal for three-way partition of the holy land into independent Jewish and Arab states and a British-mandated corridor. The commission, comprising four members and a representative of the British Colonial Office as secretary, immediately went to Government House.

Israel Goldenburg, Jew wounded in the april 23 attack by Arabs on the colony of Kfar Yavetz, died today.

One Arab bandit was killed and another was wounded yesterday when police engaged a band near Solomon’s Pools. In the Nablus area, 150 villagers were arrested on suspicion of being members of terrorist gangs.
