A pledge to remove 1,000 Jewish school children from Austria, Germany and Poland before Sept. 30 and settle them in Palestine was made today at the home of Mrs. Roger W. Straus at a luncheon to the National Youth Aliyah committee of Hadassah. It was announced that a sponsorship committee of 1,000 women from all states of the Union will be organized to guarantee the transfer of 1,000 boys and girls to Palestine and their maintenance and education for two years in the cooperative agricultural colonies and trade centers already prepared for them. A sum of $360 pays for a single child.
