Foreign Secretary Lord Halifax has drawn the attention of Foreign Minister Georges Bonnet of France to the activities of the exiled ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, who is disseminating disturbing propaganda from Beirut throughout the Middle East, the diplomatic correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reported today. The French have been unwilling to intercede, fearing to prejudice their relations with the Syrian nationalists in view of the termination of the French mandate over Syria next year, the correspondent said.
