The subcommittee on the constitution of the organization formed under the Pittsburgh Jewish unity agreement met today at the Hotel St. Regis to draft a constitution for the body. Edgar J. Kaufmann, of Pittsburgh, temporary chairman of the organization, said the committee would report to a plenary session planned for Aug. 15.
At the plenary session, the new organization will be formally constituted. One of the names which is being considered for the group is “General Council for Jewish Rights.” The organization comprises the American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, B’nai B’rith and Jewish Labor Committee.
