Immediate disarming of the Jews and arming of the Arabs was demanded today by Ragheb bey Nashashibi, former Jerusalem mayor and head of the Arab defense party, in a memorandum to high Commissioner Sir Harold Alfred MACMICHAEL. Nashashibi also asked that the authorities prohibit current Jewish defense and mobilization fund raising, which he termed “military preparation.”
