A petition asking a reprieve for Mordechai Schwartz, Palestine constable sentenced to hang Aug. 16 for killing an Arab policeman, was submitted today to Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald by H.A. Goodman, secretary of the Agudath Israel religious Jewish organization. The petition bears the signatures of many rabbis in Czechoslovakia, where Schwartz was born, and the rector and 600 former classmates of his in the Surany Yeshivah.
