Italy’s new racial measures covering marriage of Italians to members of other races today aroused distinct uneasiness in Vatican circles.
The semi-official Osservatore Romano said: “The communique of the Grand Fascist Council occupies our attention, above all as regards Catholic matrimonial discipline. We are awaiting, however, further details which will be furnished us by the texts of the law and we hope that these will dispel any reserve on our part.”
