While the Praha Government is energetically suppressing anti-Jewish activities in Bohemia, anti-Semitism is enjoying free rein in Slovakia. Five hundred Jewish students have been dismissed from Bratislava University, in the capital of Slovakia, allegedly as communists. At the same time, anti-Jewish excesses and agitation are continuing on the pretext that the Jews were responsible for Slovakia’s dismemberment.
a broadcast from Bratislava accused “Jewish bands” of responsibility for attacks against Jewish and German shops. The Bratislava police are discriminating against the Jews in the matter of currency regulations, permitting departing “Aryans” to take with them 500 kronen while allowing Jews only 50.
A Slovakian Jewish National Council has been formed to replace the dissolved Slovakian branch of the Jewish party of Czechoslovakia.
