Poland Opens Drive to Denationalize Polish Jews in Germany

The polish consulate has launched a vigorous campaign to enforce Poland’s new citizenship law, under which polish nationals who have been away from Poland for more than five years can be deprived of their citizenship, it was learned today. More than 500 polish-Jews have been denaturalized in Berlin alone in the past ten days.

Notices of denationalization are being sent out by the Consulate through the mail. The law is being interpreted with great strictness, and only those Jews having close commercial and personal links with Poland are expected to escape the axe.

The denationalized Jews automatically become “stateless” and are subject to the onerous anti-Semitic decrees of the Nazi Government.

Nazi newspapers today reported a wholesale exodus of Jews was under way in Memel, Lithuania, under renewed Nazi irridentist activities.
