The population of Alsace was called upon today to “block the road to dangerous racial propaganda” in a resolution adopted by a meeting of leaders of several political groups, religions, educators and other prominent Alsations. Michel Walter, president of the Alsation Legislative Assembly was among those present. The conference expressed sympathy with the German Jews and emphasized that Germany was undermining the fundamentals of civilization, humanity and justice.” The meeting was held, it was stated, in view of efforts to spread racial propaganda in this once-German province.
