The executive council of the British Zionist Federation today expressed “serious doubts” as to whether the Jewish Agency could participate in discussions with the British Government on Palestine’s Future in view of Britain’s refusal to permit 10,000 refugee children to enter the Holy Land.
The British Government’s failure so far to accept Palestine Jewry’s offer to receive and maintain 10,000 children, a resolution said, is “so contrary to the principles of humanity in the face of an unprecedented tragedy that we reluctantly come to the conclusion that the policy prejudices the forthcoming negotiations with his Majesty’s Government and hereby resolve to convey to the Executive of the Jewish Agency Serious doubts whether it in these circumstances can participate in these discussions, with any hope of meeting with the necessary understanding of the Jewish position.
