Pope Scores Spread of Nazi Influence in Italy

Pope Fius on Saturday denounced Italy’s racial marriage laws and the exaltation in Italy of “a cross hostile to the cross of Christ” — the swastika — as a violation of the concordat between the Italian Government and the Holy see. The pontiff made the assertion in his annual Christmas address to the sacred college of cardinals and other dignitaries.
