Rublee Among Noted Americans Backing Wagner-rogers Bill

A committee of about 70 prominent Americans has been formed to sponsor the Wagner-Rogers bill for admission of 20,000 refugee children to the United States, on which the Senate and House Immigration Committees will open three day joint hearings on Thursday, it was announced today by the Non-Sectarian Committee for German Refugee Children.

The Sponsoring Committee includes George Rublee, former director of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee; Clarence Dykstra, president of Wisconsin University; Col. Frank Knox, publisher of the Chicago Daily News; Alfred M. Landon, Monsignor John A. Ryan, Rex ford Guy Tugwell, Governor Lauren D. Dickinson of Michigan and Presidents Robert L. Hutchins and Ray Lyman Wilbur of Chicago and Stanford Universities, respectively.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Owen D. Young has joined the Non-Sectarian Committee as a co-chairman and Newbold Morris, president of the New York City Council, as treasurer.
