The Brussels Municipal Council today adopted a resolution requesting the Belgian Government, while adhering to the laws of hospitality, to examine with special care all applications by foreign merchants for permission to do business in this country. Twenty Catholic, Liberal and Rexist councillors voted for the resolution, which was moved by Mayor Adolphe Max, while eleven Socialist and Communist members abstained.
