The City Council has voted, 25 to 0, to bar the wearing of foreign uniforms in New York City, except by accredited diplomats of foreign governments. The resolution was aimed particularly at the German-American Bund. The New York World-Telegram, commenting editorially today on the measure, declared: “When alien pressure groups attempt to use their uniforms to attract nit-witted recruits, when they seek by uniforms to usurp police authority, when they flaunt their uniforms as a boast of subversive power, it is time that they were sent back to mufti.”
