Dr. Meir Kreinin, Russian-born social worker, educator and former industrialist, died here today at the age of 72. In recent years he had been identified chiefly with Jewish emigration activities in Paris, where he was president of the former Emigdirekt organization.
In Russia, Dr. Kreinin made a fortune as an industrialist but lost it in the days following the October revolution. He was among the founders of the Society for the Spread of Enlightenment in Russia, edited its monthly organ and a number of Jewish newspapers. Following the Revolution he emigrated to Berlin and thence to Paris.
