Palestine Electric Corporation Reports Profit of £323,280 in 1938

The report of the Palestine Electric Corporation for 1938 states that although the unsettled conditions, which had persisted in Palestine since April 1936, continued during the year under review, the undertaking operated satisfactorily and the sale of electrical energy was fully maintained.

The total number of consumers connected by Dec. 31 was 80,384, compared with 75,805 at the end of 1937. A total of 72,253,610 units of electrical energy were sold in 1938 with a total gross revenue for the year of £611,364, compared with 71,265,889 units and £611,051 in 1937. The gross profit for the year was £323,280 and the net profit was £183,192.
