Elimination of all race prejudice was advocated today by Joseph Scott, Los Angeles attorney addressing the Knights of Columbus international convention. Saying he spoke for the rank and file of the Catholic fraternal body, he asserted that “the Jewish race per se is not responsible for the transgression of individuals any more than we Catholics can be blamed because both Hitler and Goebbels were baptized as children of the Catholic Church.” Bishop Charles D. White of Spokane likewise assailed totalitarian philosophies.
