American Jewish relief is urgently needed in Wilno, newly ceded to Lithuania by Soviet Russia, since many Polish Jewish refugees are massed in the region, according to telegraphed advices received today by the OSE, Jewish health society, from its representative in Kaunas. Food for children is especially needed, the message said.
Connections with Wilno have been fully restored, it was stated, and an OSE delegation from Kaunas was to have left for the city yesterday. The message, the first to be received on the condition of the Jews in Wilno, appealed for funds for starting relief work for the refugees from Poland lodged there.
