Palestine offers the Intergovernmental Committee on Refugees an unparalleled opportunity for settlement of a large part of the 160,000 Jewish refugees in Europe, it was declared today by Dr. Kurt Blumenfeld, head of the German Jewish Settlers Association in Palestine, former president of the German Zionist Federation, and director of the Palestine Foundation Fund, who arrived here on the United States liner Manhattan on Sunday.

“The absorptive capacity of Palestine is without parallel, “Dr. Blumenfeld said in a statement. “Nowhere else in the world can thousands of refugees be settled permanently as speedily or as economically.”

Stating that 65,000 Jews from Germany had found a permanent home in Palestine since 1933, Dr. Blumenfeld paid tribute to the aid of American Jewry in the tasks of immigration and settlement through its generous support of the United Palestine Appeal, the American agency for promoting colonization and rebuilding activity in Palestine.
