Palestine Jews Offer Turkey Aid in Earthquake Relief

The Turkish consul today received and transmitted to his Government two alternative offers of Palestine Jewish organizations to dis patch a medical mission to Turkey for earthquake relief or to ship medical supplies.

The offers were conveyed by a delegation including Dr. Abraham Katznelson, of the Jewish National Council; Eliahu Epstein, of the Jewish Agency, and Dr. Haine Yassky, speaking for Hadassah the Hebrew University and the Tel Aviv Municipal Council.

The Turkish Government has already expressed gratitude to the Jewish Agency for Palestine Jewry’s expressions of sympathy over the catastrophe Dr. Judah L Magnes, president of the Hebrew University, wrote to the consul expressing the university’s sympathy. Many Arab notables also visited the consul to voice condolence. Emir Abdullah of Transjordan donated 100 to start a relief fund.
