D’avigdor Goldsmid, Ica Head, Dies at 63

Sir Osmond d’Avigdor Goldsmid, prominent Jewish communal worker and a veteran of the World War who retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, died yesterday at the age of 63.

Sir Osmond, at the time of his death, was president of the Jewish Colonization Association and of the American Joint Reconstruction Foundation. From 1926 until 1933, Sir Osmond was also president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. He was vice-president of the Anglo-Jewish Association and chairman of the Jews’ Free School.

Sir Osmond is survived by his widow, Alice, and two sons.
