The Senate Judiciary Committee was today expected to act favorably Tuesday on a measure requiring registration and fingerprinting of all aliens, deportation of aliens aiding other aliens to enter the country illegally, and outlawing of literature advocating disobedience of army leaders or violent overthrow of the Government.
A subcommittee has recommended adoption of the measure. An estimated 4,000,000 aliens in the United States would come under the terms of the projected law, which would also provide for fingerprinting of all alines seeking entry to the country. According to the bill, the term “alien” would include every foreigner who has not actually completed his naturalization.
Meanwhile, relief to aliens, Communists and members of the German-American Bund would be barred under the relief program which has been passed by the House and is now before the Senate, where leaders expected overwhelming approval for the measure.
