The Emergency Committee for Zionist Affairs today called upon American Zionists “to organize their strength” and “to give all possible assistance to the vanguard of the Jewish people entrenched in Palestine.”

A statement issued by the committee, which includes representatives of the Zionist Organization of America, Hadassah, Mizrachi and Poale-Zion, declared that Palestine Jewry was calm and prepared for any eventuality, pointed out that communications between American and Palestine Jewry were unbroken, and concluded:

“The Yishuv expects American Jewry to give all possible assistance to the vanguard of the Jewish people entrenched in Palestine and to maintain its positions in this supreme emergency. American Zionists are called upon to rally and organize their strength, and be prepared to assume the responsibilities arising out of this situation.”
