Rumania’s new totalitarian Government yesterday officially decreed that no one who is not admitted in the next two months to the newly created Party of the Nation, which has succeeded the less militantly Fascist Party of National Rebirth, will be permitted to continue as an executive in any commercial or industrial enterprise, to practice a profession or to hold public office.

Although Jews are not mentioned specifically in the decree, it is thought unlikely that they will be admitted to a party in which the anti-Semitic Iron Guard will admittedly play a dominant role.

The decree may be tantamount to exclusion of all Jews in business, professional and public life throughout Rumania in the opinion of observers here.
