The Government today issued a call for volunteers to form four Palestine units with the British military forces.
The first unit will comprise artisans wanted for service with the Royal Engineers. A second section will be attached to the Signal Corps. The third and fourth unit will be respectively Jewish and Arab mechanized transport companies. Officers and noncommissioned officers will be recruited from Palestinians and will include a small British nucleus.
More companies will be required also for the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps, it was announced.
