Zionists demand that Palestine, which has been subjected to two Italian air raids during July, be put on a war basis similar to England’s.

The Jewish nation must be considered a participant in the war on a national basis, Prof Seling Brodetsky, head of the London political department of the Jewish Agency, asserted last night before a meeting of the British Zionist Federation. The Jewish effort cannot be considered the contribution merely of individuals, he said.

Admitting that Palestine was militarily isolated, Prof. Brodetsky expressed the opinion that nevertheless there was not the slightest possibility of direct attack.

Speaking of post-war problems, he said that whatever the solution in the Middle East, it would have to take account of the need for a national home for Jews form devastated Europe and declared there would have to be some sort of national independence or autonomy for the Jews as a nation.
