An Associated Press dispatch from Bucharest quoted diplomatic circles as reporting that Germany had asked Rumania to delay for the present application of anti-Jewish laws. Nazi intervention was reported to be based on the belief that Jews occupied so vital a position in the country’s economic life that their sudden exclusion would impair production and slow the flow of needed supplies to Germany.
