Establishment of a world center of Jewish learning in the United States was urged at the second annual convention of the Agudath Israel last night by Rabbi Eliezer Silver in his presidential address. More than 800 delegates and guests from all over the country and Canada are attending the convention of the orthodox Jewish religious organization.

Special prayers were offered also for the well-being of the United States and for world peace, and memorial services were held for rabbis and religious leaders who fell as victims of anti-Jewish persecution in Europe.

Greeting the delegates in the name of the city, Mayor James Stewart praised the organization for striving to promote religious feeling among the Jews, adding that its example might well be followed by other religious denominations.
