Birmingham Jewish Leader Killed in Air Action over Enemy Land

Flying Officer Jack Wilk, 36, formerly a prominent member of the Birmingham Jewish Community, was killed in action during operations over enemy territory, it was announced today. Wilk had obtained a flying certificate before the war started but when hostilities began he was considered too old for a pilot’s post and was appointed an air gunner.
