Nursing Home Named for Wise to Be Established in England

Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the American Jewish Congress, was honored this evening at a dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, tendered by the British War Relief Society and the Jewish Section of the Interfaith Committee for Aid to the Democracies. The dinner marked presentation of a non-sectarian children’s nursing home to be established somewhere in England, named in honor of Dr. Wise.

Scheduled speakers included Dr. James G. McDonald, chairman of the President’s Advisory Committee on Political Refugees; Senor J. Alvarez Del Vayo, former Spanish Foreign Minister; former French Air Minister Pierre Cot, Frederick W. Gehle, chairman of the Fund-raising Division of the British War Relief Society; Dr. Maurice L. Perlzweig, chairman of the British Section of the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Israel Goldstein, chairman of the British Section of the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Israel Goldstein, chairman of the Jewish Section of the Interfaith Committee, who president, and Dr. Wise.
